SAMANA
The town of Samana is less than one hour from Las Terrenas. Samana's beachfront strip is the center
of activity and features shops and outdoor cafes. Whale watchers flock to the Samana Bay to see the annual migration of
humpback whales January through March. Cayo Levantado (also known as Barcardi Island) is a jewel of an island, located in the Samana Bay.
It's white sandy beaches and calm, crystal clear turquoise water attract tourists daily.
The island is so small, you can walk through the island in only 15 minutes.
